Research Interests

  • My PhD project focuses on developing deep-learning–based markerless tumour-tracking methods for lung cancer radiotherapy. The research aims to improve the precision of advanced treatments such as SBRT and VMAT by accurately tracking respiratory-induced tumour motion in real time using onboard imaging systems, without the need for invasive implanted markers. The project combines medical imaging, computer vision, and deep learning to localise lung tumours from kV projection images and cone-beam CT data acquired during treatment. By addressing challenges such as irregular breathing motion, low image contrast, and inter-patient variability, the research aims to support the future development of adaptive and motion-aware radiotherapy workflows for safer and more precise cancer treatment.
